Covid 19 protocols

Due to the progression of this pandemic, we are taking precautionary measures to help keep staff, animals, and clients safe. The following POLICIES are now in effect:

COVID REGULATIONS

In order to get serviced at our facility during these unusual times, the following regulations must be adhered to by all clients coming in:

    1. You must call our Receptionist at 718-822-3309 and complete our health screening questionnaire through the phone before being allowed to come into our facility.
    2. No clients are allowed on the premises unless they are wearing a proper face covering, which must be kept on at all times. There is no exception to this rule.
    3. For the safety and health of our customers and employees, this business practices social distancing. You must stand 6ft away from other individuals at all times while in the clinic. For this reason, only 4 clients are allowed in the waiting room at any given moment.
    4. If the Reception desk has a client, please wait in the designated areas marked where clients can wait their turn. Please make sure to keep yourselves in these areas until you are called up by an Assistant or Receptionist.
    5. Only 1 client is allowed in with their pet per appointment. When going in the exam room with your pet(s), you are to stay in the designated area while your pet is being examined.
    6. Should you come to the appointment with your child, you will have to wait outside with your child while your pet is being examined as only one extra person is allowed in the exam room.
    7. We value all of our client’s time and due to increased appointments we now have limited availability, so please be aware that we provide a 15min grace period for all appointments. If you have not arrived during this 15min grace period, we will have to give this appointment to the next client. Therefore, if you are not here for your appointment, you will be considered a walk-in and will be charge accordingly.
    8. Payments for services rendered are taken care of in person by Reception.
    9. If you are coming to pick up medication or food, please wait outside and call us at 718-822-3309. We will prepare it and call you in once we are ready with your order.

** NO CLIENTS ARE ALLOWED TO WAIT IN THE HALLWAY/STAIRCASE AREA AS IT IS NOT PART OF OUR FACILITY AND DOING SO IS A FIRE HASSARD **

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

    1. Our appointments are usually fully booked 3-4 weeks in advance. However, as an emergency clinic, we do have the option of clients coming in as walk-ins. Walk-ins are seen when possible, between appointments, so even though we try our best, the wait times for walk-ins still ranges from 1-3 hours.
    2. In order to respect the veterinarians time, should you need to cancel your appointment, please do it 24hrs before your scheduled time so we can have time to schedule someone else in that slot. Any appointments cancelled less than 24hrs before their appointed time will be charged a $25.00 cancellation fee. This will be added to the patients account and will be charged at the patients next appointment.
    3. Since New York has extreme weather (both hot and cold) and we do not want you to spend a long time waiting outside, we recommend that you call to confirm that your appointment is on schedule before coming in. If you are a walk-in and you live close by (10-15mins away), we suggest you sign-in and go home to wait for our receptionists to call you when the doctor is available. Walk-ins are taken in order of arrival so you will not lose your place if choosing this option.
    4. Please understand that the drop-off time is not the time your pet will be examined by the Dr. It is the time that we expect you to sign in so that we can take you in as the next client.
    5. While we strive to keep our appointments punctual, setbacks can happen as we are an emergency hospital. Please be patient with us as we are doing the best we can.
    6. We need the phone lines available to better serve you and our customers. Once you let us know you are here, please wait patiently outside until we call you in. Please do not call us every couple of minutes to inquire about the length of your wait-time.

Adopting these measures allows us to remain open to continue to provide the best care for you and your pet. Hence, we have instituted a “zero tolerance for intolerance policy.” We require that you follow the above regulations in a respectful manner as these are all based on state law and must be followed regardless. Should you show any disrespectful behavior toward our staff, your appointment will be canceled and you will not be seen by our doctors. We work really hard to keep all our clients satisfied. We only ask for your consideration, patience, and understanding. We greatly appreciate you as our client.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. Stay safe.
