Veterinary Hospitalization

If it becomes necessary for your dog or cat to stay in our hospital, you can count on your pet receiving a clean and comfortable environment, an accurate diagnosis and the very best comprehensive medical care and affection.

Most hospitalized pets are given fluids intravenously (IV). This is the best way to give fluids, especially for a pet that is vomiting, has diarrhea, or is not fully conscious. IV fluids require professional administration by a member of our nursing staff. They have to be monitored closely to be certain the precise amount is being administered. For the more serious cases we use a special infusion pump to maintain a continuous flow. This machine monitors the fluid flow rate continuously, and delivers the correct amount of fluid no matter what position the pet is in.

Care Updates

You will be updated on the progress of your pet daily by a Doctor or Technician. We strive to keep you as up to date as possible on the condition of your pet. You are also welcome to call and ask for updates or to address any questions or concerns you may have.

Pet Visitation

We ask that you call ahead to let us know when you’ll be arriving to visit. If your pet’s medical condition allows, we have a comfortable room for you to visit your pet and enjoy your time together in privacy.

Veterinary Hospital Discharge

Your pet will likely be discharged during our business hours. When you pick up your pet, you will have a chance to speak with the doctor or the technician to address any questions or concerns and discharge instructions.
